Saturday 17.05.2014: 51 students took part in the journey to Broadstairs. After 16 hours we arrived at our destination – the Garden Center – in Ramsgate. The weather was very nice: blue sky, sunshine and a very hot temperature were the perfect beginning of our journey. The host families were already waiting for us and we went to our houses immediately, where everyone fell asleep very soon, because the long journey was very exhausting.
Sunday 18.05.2014: After the night in a comfortable bed, we had breakfast with our host families. Shortly thereafter, we drove about 1,5 hours to London by bus, and the weather was still beautiful as on the first day. We saw a lot of famous sights and had free time, where most of us bought something to eat or other stuff. Immediately after that, we walked to the bus and left London at about 5 pm. The rest of the day was a cozy get-together with our host families.
Monday 19.05.2014: This was our first school day. At the beginning we had to write a test, to know how good our English skills are. School finished at quarter past twelve. In the afternoon we had to do an observation quiz in and around Broadstairs. Everybody enjoyed it. The film in the evening was a little bit boring and some of us fell asleep, but the popcorn was very delicious.
Tuesday 20.05.2014: As usually, we went to school. After that we drove to a town called Margate, where we had free time and most of us went to a clothing shop called Primark. Afterwards we walked to a Bowling center, where everyone had a lot of fun. The disco in the evening was also very entertaining and everyone danced to the latest hits.
Wednesday 21.05.2014: This day we went to Canterbury, where we saw the famous sights of this town. In the afternoon we went back to our host families for dinner. After that, we enjoyed a lovely karaoke evening with our Spanish friends. We had to go home at 10 pm.
Thursday 22.05.2014: After the school in the morning, we walked along the coast to Ramsgate, where we stayed for about an hour. Then we walked back to our host families, where we enjoyed another lovely dinner. In the evening it was time for the Barn Dance, where a funny band played traditional songs. We had a lot of fun.
Friday 23.05.2014: In the morning our host families drove us to the Garden center to put our suitcases onto the bus. After school we bought something to eat for the trip home. Then we walked to the Western Esplanade, where we got on our coach for the journey home.
host families: Most of us loved their host families. We ate our dinners together and talked about our experiences in England and we asked them some questions.
food: The English food is really nice. We had typical English food like fish and chips, chicken and vegetables.
weather: The first two days the weather was really nice, but after that it rained a little bit, but not so much.
It was a very nice and interesting trip. We had a lot of fun and action and of course we all improved our English.
